Tourism accounts for 13% of GDP. Can we still afford to innovate on a project basis?

TTG Next Start Up Arena

Tourism generates approximately 13% of Italy's GDP (source: MiTur-Enit) and is one of the country's most strategic assets. In recent years, innovation in the sector has grown thanks to startups, funding calls, acceleration programmes, calls for ideas, and public and private initiatives that have brought new solutions, skills and opportunities. However, an ecosystem is not built in a few months, nor does it end with the conclusion of a project: it requires continuity, connections, data, expertise and collaboration between businesses, startups, research institutions and local territories. How can this wealth of ideas and experimentation be transformed into lasting value for the entire sector? From this challenge, the Travel Innovation Hub is born: a permanent space that connects startups, companies, institutions and investors to turn innovation into value for tourism.
