Travel and Tourism as a Source of Awakening

Awake, the theme of TTG Travel Experience 2025, makes us aware that we are all in a new Era. But how can a destination act and react to change, to the new needs of society, communities, and the market? How can the world of tourism generate not only a neutral but even a positive impact during this transformation, both from an environmental perspective and in terms of raising awareness among its inhabitants?
Alberto Cancian - Destination Manager, Meditation teacher, Forest Bathing guide, and co-founder of the Ri.natura project - will try to answer, supported by two case studies. On one hand, the "Ri.natura" project: a container of experiential activities dedicated to re-connecting with Nature - both external and internal - which, by intercepting the growing needs of this new era, has become a best practice for territorial development and promotion, as well as environmental awareness, in the mountains of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. On the other hand, the "Orizzonti Interiori" project, a series of transformative journeys to the most evocative destinations on the planet - from Jordan to Nepal, from the Amazon to India - which embodies the concept of "evolution of traveling outside and inside oneself," according to the teaching of Tiziano Terzani who reminded us: "You will only find your way if you have the courage to get lost."
