To truly know yourself, you need a mirror. And that mirror is other people. This is why one sets out on a journey, as the two authors recount, accustomed to travelling the world alone, across borders and continents.
From the Buddhist monasteries of South-East Asia to the Amazon rainforest in search of shamans and entheogenic plants, from Varanasi to Calcutta, among the dying assisted by the sisters of Mother Teresa and elderly ascetics, through to the curanderas of Guatemala, they have both traversed geographies and souls.
