Fausto Faggioli

Biography

He is a lecturer and project territorial marketing manager for sustainable development, cross-sectoral networks, and Rural Quality Districts. In 1982, he launched the “Fattorie Faggioli” project, introducing the concept of agricultural multifunctionality and transforming the rural world into a laboratory of innovative economy. The success of the initiative earned him recognition from the European Union as a “pilot model,” paving the way for public-private networks dedicated to the promotion and commercialization of rural destinations. With decades of experience leading one of the most significant enterprises in the field of the new sustainable economy, Faggioli has promoted numerous training activities within national and European projects. In 2008, he founded and became president of the E.A.R.T.H. Academy, an international network dedicated to cooperation and the exchange of best practices. He is also president of Rete Albatros, which brings together professionals and businesses to support local authorities through administrative, engineering, and financial services. At the European level, he collaborates with public administrations, universities, ITS Academies, schools, LAGs, training institutions, and private companies, and he is the author of books and publications on marketing and communication for rural development. In 2020, he transformed Fattorie Faggioli into “Borgo Basino” – an educational farm, agritourism, and social space – and “Faggioli Experience,” a business incubator and accelerator dedicated to start-ups and project development for both public and private sectors. In 2021, he received the Oscar for the Enhancement of the Territory, with the following motivation: “For the various projects personally carried out over the years, through which he succeeded in creating a link between the coast and the hinterland, using quality agriculture and local products as unifying elements.”
