Ilaria Marianini

Biography

Since June 2024, Daniela Marianini has served as Mayor of Santa Sofia, becoming the first woman in the town’s history to hold this role. Elected with the center-left civic list Santa Sofia Consenso Comune, she achieved a decisive result, winning over 67% of the vote—an outcome that reflected a strong mandate of trust from the community. Her path is deeply rooted in the town’s social and associative life, an experience that has allowed her to build a solid reputation as an administrator close to citizens, attentive to listening, and committed to participation. The day after her proclamation, Santa Sofia was hit by a severe wave of bad weather requiring swift and coordinated action. Marianini managed the emergency with determination, mobilizing civil protection, municipal offices, and volunteers, immediately demonstrating her leadership ability. Her mandate is built on three main pillars: care for the territory, social cohesion, and the involvement of younger generations. Her priorities include the maintenance and redevelopment of infrastructure, strengthening services in hamlets and small centers, innovative youth policies, and a special focus on the natural and cultural heritage that makes Santa Sofia unique. The composition of her team reflects a balance between continuity and renewal: she appointed Matteo Zanchini as deputy mayor, confirming his experience, and formed an executive attentive to budget, public works, environment, and communication. Marianini embodies a new generation of administrators: young, pragmatic, and determined, yet sensitive to the value of human relationships and community. Her election marks a turning point and an opportunity to relaunch Santa Sofia with a contemporary and inclusive vision, without ever losing the deep connection with its citizens and territory.
