Marco Maurelli

Marco Maurelli is a leading manager and association executive in the Italian Blue Economy landscape, specialising in the management, protection and development of the beach tourism system and the fishing supply chain. He holds the position of National President of Federbalneari Italia, one of the most representative trade associations in the country, where he has been confirmed at the helm with the strategic objective of providing business continuity and regulatory certainty to thousands of companies in the sector. His journey within Federbalneari has deep-rooted foundations: prior to assuming the presidency in 2020, he led the federation as National General Director and as President of Federbalneari Lazio, gaining an in-depth technical knowledge of maritime state concessions and related reforms. Over these years, he has become one of the key points of reference for the media, institutions and the Government at the concertation tables linked to the Bolkestein Directive and the decrees on compensation and coastal mapping. Alongside his commitment to the tourism sector, Maurelli serves as President of GAL Pesca Lazio (formerly Flag Lazio Nord), the public-private body that brings together the coastal municipalities of the region and the Port System Authority of the North-Central Tyrrhenian Sea for the revival of sustainable fishing, aquaculture and integrated coastal growth. As a promoter of internationally significant initiatives such as the Stati Generali della Blue Economy, Maurelli pursues a development model that combines environmental sustainability and the protection of marine ecosystems with the safeguarding of the entrepreneurial fabric and employment in coastal territories.
