Sauro Baruffi

Biography

He has been the mayor of Premilcuore since June 2024. Elected with the civic list Tradition and Progress, he obtained 44% of the votes in a highly contested election, marking a significant change for the community. Not new to administrative commitment, in the past he had served as deputy mayor and councillor, developing a deep understanding of local dynamics and the needs of the territory. His election was interpreted as a "political comeback": a return to community service with a program based on balance between identity and innovation. Baruffi has focused on boosting tourism, developing infrastructure, digitizing services, and enhancing the environmental heritage. Among the symbolic projects of his mandate is the creation of a facility for slow tourism and cycling in the festival area, with a workshop, bike washing station, and dedicated spaces for hikers, aiming to make Premilcuore an attractive stop for outdoor tourism. The new mayor has repeatedly stated his intention to safeguard traditions while looking to the future. His commitment is directed towards strengthening basic services, supporting local businesses, taking care of the hamlets, and enhancing the natural resources that characterize the upper Rabbi valley. In the first months of his mandate, he has already begun defining the three-year investment plan, maintaining the tax pressure unchanged and allocating resources to public works, maintenance, and tourism initiatives. The hallmark of his administrative approach is pragmatism: listening to the community, mediating between different needs, and building a future in which Premilcuore remains true to its roots while being capable of innovating and attracting new opportunities.
