Biography
Silvia Donatiello is a travel journalist, tourism PR consultant and destination marketing professional with more than 30 years of experience between Italy and Spain. Her work focuses on building the reputation of destinations through media relations, storytelling, trade activities and strategic communication.
She has developed extensive expertise in cultural and experiential tourism, outdoor and active travel, cycling, gastronomy, sustainability and destination positioning, working with tourism boards, tour operators, hospitality brands and travel industry partners.
For many years she lived and worked in the Canary Islands, where she began a long professional relationship with the archipelago. Today she is the Gran Canaria Tourism Board Representative for Italy, supporting the destination in the Italian market through PR, media relations, trade marketing, events, workshops, press trips, presentations and partnerships with travel industry stakeholders.
Alongside consultancy, Silvia continues to work as a journalist, writing about destinations, food, culture, lifestyle and travel trends for Italian publications. She is particularly interested in the relationship between tourism and local communities, the transformation of cultural heritage into meaningful visitor experiences, and the development of more responsible and authentic forms of travel.
A frequent speaker and moderator at tourism and travel industry events, she regularly participates in conferences, panels and professional meetings focused on destination development, active tourism and communication.
